Permit me to complain of the manner in which the little
Annual Report for Hong Kong is prepared.
Unlike that for the other Crown Colonies, it omite many
important particulars which it is usual to publish. I obtained
the one which I possess with a view to ascertaining certain facts
which one naturally expects to find set out and an disappointed at
their abas 108. For instance, only the totals of Revenue and
Expenditure are given, the items not being shewn and other important particulars it fails to give.the information to all these reports
such as death rate, birth rate and so on.

I wonder whether a complaint like this from an obscure
private individual is likely to have any weight, but I shall be pleased if my protest could secure that future issues for Hong Kong
are made uniform in their design with the rest of the reports
for Crown Colonies.
